Riding Wild is a tailored riding safari based on Borana Conservancy in Laikipia, Kenya.
The riding safaris are completely flexible and vary from an afternoon ride in the land surrounding Borana Lodge, to 10 day safaris crossing many reserves throughout Laikipia. With three herds of fabulous, mostly thoroughbred-cross horses at different locations, the opportunities are endless.
Some of Borana’s most popular rides take guests through Kisima wheat and flower farms and up in to the African Rosewood forests on the side of Mt Kenya. Fishing enthusiasts can extend these rides to Lake Alice. Other rides take in the mighty Ewaso River, Enasoit and Suyian for fantastic game viewing, and Lolldaiga Hills. Nights can be spent either fly-camping or staying in lodges along the way like Tassia or Rotundu’s charming log cabins.
Novice riders and children can enjoy afternoon rides from Borana Lodge as one of the many activities on offer at Borana. The longer safaris are guided by Nicky Dyer and can be tailored to specific preferences. Riding safaris off the Borana conservancy are subject to a minimum of four guests.
